Some think he’s a genius…

Some think he looks like a stunned Mullet this time of year … We all know him as ‘el presidente’.

Lucky for Ron there is an assembled crack team of volunteers to deliver the 20^th Annual Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic.

Ron said in a revealing tell all interview, he is emotionally overwhelmed at the efforts club members have made to ensure another rod bending line ripping great time is on for the whole family this Easter.

He now wants to buy a kitten!

Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic was among 49 Qld events and the ONLY event in the Fraser Coast/South Burnett regions who received funding from the Premier and Minister for the Arts, the Honourable Ana Bligh to hold a Queensland event.

The $8,500 announcement came on the 17^th December 2010 with the Premier saying, “Events create a new reason for people to visit and are a great way to promote an area”.

“This funding is supporting regional events that attract tourists, increase economic activity, support jobs, entertain locals and boost community spirit”.

The Easter Fishing Classic for 20 years has been a conduit in attracting visitors from around Australia and overseas to the small fishing village and is proud of the economic boost and community benefit the event brings to Burrum Heads.

Attending the 2010 Easter Fishing Classic, Mike Cole became hooked after taking the classic family fishing event bait - fun. In an excited moment he has committed Austackle to a premier sponsorship of the 2011 Easter Fishing Classic. 

Austackle design seriously good fishing gear to suit Aussie fishing, in 2010 Austackle sponsored quality gear for a number of prize categories, but Mike Cole looked like a sweet tooth in a candy store and has gone overboard. In 2011, Austackle will provide the 2011 Easter Fishing Classic with a broad range of fishing gear for the whole family to land in the many prize draws and giveaways.

Some say he only comes out at night and is rarely seen in public.

Some say he is so shy even when he looks in the mirror be becomes bashful.

But tell Mike Cole there’s a fishing comp in Burrum Heads and he goes crackers, just begging to give away his Aussie designed fishing gear for Aussie anglers of all ages and skill.

But now Easter is just around the corner Ron sent the ‘King of Prizes’ Eric Davey to break the news to Mike being the 20^th annual Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classics’ Premier sponsor in 2011.

The ‘King of Prizes’ revealed Mike became so animated at the news he broke into his favourite Pointer Sisters song – I’m So Excited.

Mike also wants to buy a kitten.

The Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic welcomes Austackle on Board

Some say his best feature is viewed from behind.

Some say he makes them giggle.

We know him as the ‘King of Prizes’.

Behind every great man is an even greater woman, Eric Davey and driving force wife Rosemary have again trawled the country to deliver over $25,000 of prizes and give-aways including the early bird prize valued at $300

During the excitement of accepting the generous sponsorships, Rosemary revealed in a quiet moment Erics’ hard work is his best feature when giving away the thousands of dollars in prizes. 

Due to her popularity we have disguised Leanne the coordinator of the ‘Kids Clinic’ to hide her identity. At last year’s Easter Fishing Classic Leanne was overwhelmed at 157 young people attending her clinic; double that of the previous year.

But we know the popularity of the ‘Kids Clinic’ keeps smashing attendance records each year. 

With the help and support of local businessman Bob Wicks from Bobs Bridgestone Tyres Leanne puts on a great Sunday morning with a Q&A session, target casting & a raffle draw. Leanne is one sharp lady and assures the Easter Classic organisers she is ready for you youngins! Just to make sure Leanne has bought in reinforcements from Channel 7 to ensure you youngins have a chance at the prizes and loads of fun.

Lending his ‘weight’ to sustainable fishing, Paul Di Cesare is proud of the catch and release program, he likes showing off the impressive catch in the live tank.

Paul is as excited as a sweet tooth in a candy store at the new viewing window on the live tank and asks all anglers to be familiar with the rules so you will have a rod bending line ripping good time at the 20^th annual Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic in 2011.

The Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic has again teamed up with Fraser Island Iceboxes to bring you more fun than an esky full of monkeys on the Esky Wheel.

Be there Saturday and Sunday for your chance to take home one of these highly sought after Eskies in a range of colours and YES the special mum and dad Eskies are back.

And in breaking news Burrum Heads Fishing Club Members vote YES to a new Esky Wheel, so no more ‘LINERS’! Club President Ron Henderson said the NEW Esky Wheel has more spin than his new reel.

At a secret location deep in Burrum Heads the ladies have revealed the value of the major raffle valued at $3418 including Engal fridge and a fantastic Webber Q. 

The intrigue deepened as they revealed the raffle has an impressive 5 prize draw.

Max and his wonderful wife Gloria are very much loved by and still remain part of the Burrum Heads Fishing Club. They will enjoy the Easter Fishing Classic in a supporting role and take time to see the Easter Classic from a different view, sitting down!
